JRE 1.5.0 experienced the same issues. Even if JRE 1.5 worked, Ubuntu
8.04 is shipping with JRE 1.6 and so that is the version that must be
supported, also 1.5 is on end of life.

Is Qt Jambi 4.4 possible on Ubuntu 8.04?
