I have already started porting an open source project I am working on from
QtJambi and also instructed my employer to port a pet project we have in
QtJambi (after my recomendation) to Qt C/C++. I don't have any viable
alternatives for Java applications on the desktop and it's a pity because
QtJambi was a perfect choice on the desktop where the only think that Java
misses is a full featured, intuitive GUI toolkit and on the other hand some
other projects where also possible like the Qt4DotNet. Anyway, the guys
involved in this project did an excellent job and I would personally like to
thank them but as the situation is I would also not recommend in starting
something in QtJambi.
