It's still a little vague > because it's still being researched. >
I would expect the TextEdit to emit a signal onTextChanged each time the text changes. Means it needs to scramble the entire contents of the underlying text document and create a plain text copy of it, which doesn't seems to scale well beyond basic text input on touch devices.
