I'm trying to install qtada 3 on ubuntu 10.04 64 bit, In synaptic it tells me I have qtcore 4.4 installed but I get the following message

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables QTCORE_CFLAGS
and QTCORE_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

is there a reason for this ?
