finally I connected my external screen to my laptop and started using it
with qtile. On the way I encountered two difficulties
1. Cloned displays
What is the recommended way of cloning displays?
I am using xrandr with the "--same-as" mode. The screens have different
resolutions. Only on the display with the lower resolution the open
window will look fine. On the other screen a mix of different groups
will appear. Most notably the menu bar will appear in the middle of the
screen.
xrandr --output eDP1 --mode 1920x1080 --output DP2 --mode 1366x768
--same-as eDP1
2. Restraining the mouse
Is it possible to restrain the mouse to one display only?
Let's say I have a full screen application (e.g. a game or graphical
editor). On the other display (no clone) I have information for reading.
Now I would like to avoid accidentally entering the other screen by
restraining it to one display only.
Would be great to know how other ppl solved this!
