sorry for the late reply. I have installed the recent version of qtile
from the git and so far it seems that the bug is gone.
Sorry for the incomplete xtrace log earlier. I thought you meant an
xtrace log of the thunderbird application only. Next time I will follow
the wiki.

When I open attachments they will open somtimes in fullscreen and
sometimes in a small window. From that moment onward the windows start
to be messerd up, with Thunderbird appearing in groups it was not
assigned to.
