Just fixed both issues using Justine Smithies config. I'm given to understand that float_rules now take Match objects instead of a dictionary and that the Match object's wm_class argument is now a string rather than a list. So fixed both issues. And the git version now handles floating windows perfectly fine thanks for recommending the git version. But for future reference where can I get information on changes like this that are made on the git version?
