Hello,
A few days ago I tried to switch from awesomewm to qtile, however, I never
tried to actually start it with startx. My xinitrc has "exec qtile start"
like the docs say. When I read the errors for startx, it reads startup.sh
errored, but thi s is conditional. For example, if I do startx normally, it
would not show the same error message. I've tried startx with sudo and
checked the qtile error file, however since it's never been properly
started the error file hasn't generated. I'm not sure if this is a
awesomewm interference or I'm doing something wrong. I'm not using a
display manager, so that's also not it. I'm on arch linux and I directly
installed qtile from the official repos that's not experimental. I saw a
thread on some forum on my problem (or something like it), and his fix was
just to change to qtile-git on the AUR, but I'm hesitant to do this as I'm
not used to installing experimental packages (something might break or
something).
Thanks.
