I agree with the post on voting on issues.  That is what I do every election.  As I get closer to the primary I concentrate on local elections and those affecting my state.  I personally try to review everyone's position on the issues I feel are most important.  I do not vote Democrat or Republican, simply for the candidate I feel will best represent me.
