That's sad.  My bird has my cats cowering when she's out, so I don't worry too much about her.  She's given them all a few pecks just to help them understand who is the boss!

Had a parakeet once that had the run of the house--then got 2 kittens, one a
mix from the humane society and then a siamese. The parakeet had them in
line soon, biting at them then eating their food. I knew the mix would
ignore the bird, but got to where we had to watch the siamese a bit.
The bird loved to go in the bathroom and love himself in the mirror. One
afternoon he was doing that, I looked up and the cat had him in his mouth!
I yelled at the cat who dropped him, but it was too late, he died that
night. Took 2 years, but the cat won. Did not have another bird until
after my accident. Lesson learned--get a bigger bird!
take care,
Dana and ?

wants. She can talk, bark, and cry like a baby! She has only gone outside
twice since I got her in '89 and both times she didn't go far before getting
back home. She keeps my cats on their paws!
