I once heard of a saying that, Once you've discovered that you've dug yourself into a hole... stop digging. I have personally tried to use that saying to save myself in several digging situations. Some situations have succeeded while others have, sadly failed. But one learns and continue to learn. My first step was getting rid of that shovel and started using a spoon. It doesn't cause as much damage and I still have to work much harder to dig myself in those holes. Best Wishes W
