Welcome to the Quad-List. I asked about the FL Medicaid in another SCI Group I'm in and this is what info I have so far.
"They must be on the other waiver that's not thru the BSCIP. Nov. 1 was the date a new agency took over. Urge Loren to contact the BSCIP. (I never thought I'd recommend that). Those types of changes are ludicrous."
I'm not in FL but if you have any question, or I get more advice/info, I will post it. I will keep you in my prayers. Stay Strong.

I am a C- 5-6 quadriplegic of 24 years survival. I happened to be in a nursing home when they first were developing the brain and spinal cord injury Medicaid waiver program and a misguided social worker was telling me about some great program that was going to help me the only thing is it was the wrong program. But I did find out about the Medicaid waiver brain and spinal cord program which Thom Delilah was putting together at the time. I talked with him a good deal over the first few years before it came to fruition. This allowed me to be in the program very early.
During a conference with my caseworker, Tom Delilah, and Bill Rineking all of the brain and spinal cord injury program somehow Thom Delilah ! came up with the figure of $2700 per month for my care out of the blue. This was after about two hours of total absurdity around my kitchen table. After they left my mother shook her head and couldn't believe that they were running a program.
Since I have a three-bedroom home and only I live here, I could provide my five-day care provider a place to live and an extra $500 per month. The part-time person received $1200 per month to work two days and two nights to relieve the five-day person.
