It's just the type most vendors have.  I just call them up and they deliver it.  Medicare covers ummm $200+ a month as a rental.  We pay $4 every month.  That way, as a rental, if it gets a leak (like mine just did after 11 months) they bring you a new one right away.

Gets tricky though ... when a year is up (and you're on MediCARE for receiving it) they give the patient either a purchase option or keep renting.  We got the letter 'bout a month ago.  Safer to rent because if we own it and it goes kaput then we have to buy another 100%.

My body isn't toooooooooooo picky on mattresses though.  I used a plain waffle mattress
for 9 years too.  Just an air mattress that comes with its own plastic pump and is an overlay.  I sleep 9-10 hours on my side without moving and no problems.

I could still use a waffle but something about having to be more responsible for the if gotten through a vendor.  In the past I bought my own.  2 for $140.  For a backup.  They rarely last more than a yr though and having sloppy aides leaving my blow dryer on it for a few seconds (melting it) or it getting a pin puncture anytime is a risk.

We're deciding now what to do abt my rental time being up.

If you want to see the exact waffle mattress I used (and may again) it's here  http://www.ehob.com/products/mattress_overlays.html

Lori,
What type of badgers are you using?  If you don't mind my asking, how much does a cost?
