Well kids, today is my 25th Anniversary of being converted to quadism. ; ) I got hurt outside Batilmore, drunk n driving after partying with buddies from work. I was 21, and still in my wild-years. They flew me to Washington Hospital Center, saved me, and i spent 3 months there before heading for a rehab hospital in Baltimore, where i spent another 4 months. Then, it was off to the Md Rehab Center for almost a year...i had nowhere to be discharged to, so i teamed up with another quad and a guy with Cystic Fibrosis, and we moved to an apt nearby. That first year i realized i need to get back to Florida to start a new life in warm climate. It was the best decision of my life, and i went on to drive, grad college, get a job and play/record music in public for money.
My goals nowadays are a lot less ambitious, as i'm just trying to keep the boat from turning over, but overall, i'm proud of what i've done with the years of quadism. Now i'm ready to get out of this damn chair so i can kick my buddy's butt in basketball.
