It cost that much and it was never inspected?  I think I'd call someone at the state and ask if they need to be inspected, and how often should they be if it's not required.

Big difference between Porch Lifts and Elevators. Elevators must be
licensed
and inspected yearly by your local inspector.
Porch Lifts a usually open platforms that lift up to 96 inches. The
newer
platforms
have enough l! imit switches to drive most sane people crazy. So know
what you
are getting. A typical lift may cost 2500-4000 dollars depending on
what
they do, who operates them and where they are mounted. (and yes they are
mounted) W
