There are tons of countries that want to bid on the reconstruction but unless you're part of the coalition which means if you opposed the war you don't get a  bid.

I'm not saying that's necessarily wrong but it would save us a whole lot of money letting countries that work a whole lot cheaper do some reconstructing.

Mark, honest, I agree with you. I'm just saying that there aren't any other companies that want to do what haliburton is doing,, uhm, beside over billing and war profiteering.

John check this out.
This is 1 way they pay people in Iraq!

Willis served as a senior adviser on aviation and communications matters for the CPA during the last half of 2003 and said he was responsible for the operation of Baghdad's airport.

Describing the transfer of $2 million to one contractor's gunnysack, Willis said: "It was time for payment. We told them to come in and bring a bag." He said the money went to Custer Battles of Middletown, R.I., for providing airport security in Baghdad for civilian passengers.

I honestly checked this out. I wondered why would they give a company such a contract without bidding. Haliburton only has one competitor that might be able to bid against them. It seems Bechtel declined the offer to bid on Iraq.
(Remember, we didn't want to let foreign companies in on the action.)
