Bobbie,

I'm going through a similar process myself, but I am fortunate to still have a chair which functions half-ass decently. I am trying to switch over to a different drive mechanism, i.e. possibly a chin control and that in combination with the fact my armrests are entirely too low has me so uncomfortable in my new wheelchair I am unable to spend any time in it. I spend most of the one-hour in the wheelchair a day pounding my head against the headrest. Following the frustration I sit in my new chair and try to think of things to take my mind off of the depressing topic. I keep trying to tell myself that it took a considerable amount of time for me to get my current wheelchair where I was comfortable with it all the time. You, nevertheless, must have it worse than I do and I would recommend following the sage advice of many of the people on this list. Calling your doctor are making an appointment to explain how distraught and distressed you are over this situation is never a b! ad idea. He or she might be able to intercede and possibly expedite the order or the doctor might just give you something to make you feel a little better. Prior to my injury I did not like advocate using marijuana, but now I see nothing wrong with it and if my lungs were a little better I would be trying to find some myself occasionally. Whatever you do think of the consequences before acting. Remember, we are here for you if you need us.

Billy
