John,

I have  had a lot of the same problems as you with the bus system in the past. Thank God I have since gotten my license and driving but it drove me crazy.  I was often left at school also for hours.  I called and called asking them where they were.  I made them miserable calling. Many of the times they forgot to put a return time so they figured I didn't need a ride home so if I didn't call, I would have been stranded there.  I also called the main guy of the whole transit system for the area and he was outraged when he found out what was going on.  Things began to change after that.  Trust me, if they thought they could get away with it, they tried to do what they could to aslo make me miserable because they were pissed I told on them.  On top of everything, people with disabilities are charged doube the regular route including transfers if we would of come to a transfer point on the regular route even though you go directly there.  Pretty crazy I think.  I was next going to go to the news stations.  I hope that you have or will complain to someone about this.  No one should have to wait 3 hours for a ride.

Traveling, even locally has become an awful task at it's very best. Last time I used public trans to the doctor I spent 45 minutes at the curb awaiting pickup and 3 hours awaiting the ride home. I was late for a doctors visit that took all of 20 minutes. Long distance..pfffft. That doesn't exist. I haven't left Cincinnati since 1979 and I can't see how that will change. I hear about handicapped accessible busses and such, but when I call, they have no idea what I'm talking about. The busses in cincy all have the little blue and white accessibility sign but refuse to pickup wheelchairs. In cases where I use public transportation I must call 24 hours ahead of time and then it is a crap shoot as to when they will arrive and if they can get me back home.

I posted a "traveling dilema" concerning the fact that me and my hubby ( quad for 43 years) can not travel anymore due to my inability any longer to load all the stuff we need and finding accessible lodging......just wonder if it got posted (as I am new to this) and if anyone has similar concerns or suggestions.............
 Thanks you guys,
