I have had a concern about devotees and have had several contact me through yahoo messenger.  I guess they looked at my profile on yahoo and then they instant messenger.  I did however meet a devotee through disabled united that was actually really nice.  He had medical problems when he was young.  I don’t know if that is why but I emailed back and forth with him and he seems to be one of the few that is nice.  We decided to be pen pals since he is in Denver and I'm in MD and he is Jewish and wants to find someone also Jewish.  Not all of them have bad intentions its just that it is difficult to figure out which ones are good and frankly I'd rather just stay away from them in general because you just don't know.  I'm curious to know about other peoples experiences with devotees.

Thanks Erin,
My concern has always for the protection of the membership here from a group
of devotees, who prey on those who are newly injured or who are living by themselves.
Not trying to be over protective, but know of several people that bought the London Bridge
last year.... and they weren't disabled.

To W and All,
I hear your concerns. I was also skeptical at first about sharing things about myself. First of all there is a legal privacy agreement given by the website. Second of all, you are not required to give any information other than your email address, which you are giving by being part of this list-serve as well. We all must just use our best judgement, just like in the real world. Maybe it can be of help to someone. It can't hurt to check it out.
Thanks for your imput.
Erin
