On my printer I can open it and click on 'Properties' and then click on the 'Advanced' tab.  On mine there is an option there for  an 'Available From' button that I can set to any time I want.  The printer won't work unless it is between that time.  You might jus! t want to put 'Pause' on your printer if your "friend" doesn't know much about the computer.  Good luck.
