Do any of you man that where condom catheters have problems with waking up to a wet bed because you pinched off your catheter due to spasm's? If you do, I may have a solution that is working for me. I would be very fortunate if I only wet the bed once per week because of my catheter coming off because I would spasm and end up either pinching off the tubing or actually sitting on the catheter. I tried everything I could think of to prevent this from running the catheter tubing different routes, having more slack, having less slack and even putting cardboard underneath me so the catheter would slide more easily instead of getting bounded up in the bedding. The cardboard trick worked pretty well but I was still having problems. One night as I was getting ready for bed we had the tubing run like we normally do and I had a spasm and actually folded the catheter underneath me. Different ideas were running through my head when my caregiver got to the end of the toilet paper roll. When I see the cardboard tubing, a lightbulb went off and I told her to slip that over my penis. It looked stupid as hell but it worked except it would slide off during the night. Now, I have the cardboard toilet paper roll over my penis and it is held in place with a close pin connected to the plastic connector that slides into the catheter if you connect it to the late text tubing it will pinched it shut. I have been doing this for the last couple months and I have been dry ever since. |
