Oh so true! I also hate the Holidays. Why is it that those people who help us out during the year feel that the Holidays belong just to them? They can't spare a couple of hours to make our lives a little more bearable? Wouldn't this be a great time to teach their children - and others - what compassion is all about? Even hospitals and nursing homes are short of staff. How can people be so God Damn selfish? Screw the poor soul lying in bed getting a pressure sore, I'm having a blast getting drunk and spending quality time' with my family and friends.
It seems it gets worse every year. I'm one of those door mats that say 'Oh, don't worry, I'll be fine'. And they reply, 'I'll be thinking of you'. Well, fuck them. I'd love to trade places with these fair weather workers. It's like a bad few weeks when I'm >supposed to understand that the rest of the world is having fun and would I >please not pester them. I get tired of hiding how I feel about them all. Why >do I have to be understanding when those idiots send me get well cards for >Christmas. I must have that spirit again. Maybe I can get over it by Christmas? > >john >C-5 >31 years post >
