i'm sorry but I think handicapped parking is an issue meant to distract us from
serious issues. My wheelchair will make it from a non handicapped parking
place. I get pissd when my chair cant climb the so called curb cuts. When I'm
asked to sit by the kitchen because they don't have a place for a wheelchair in
by the entertainment. Places are grandfathered in to avoid having any
facilities. Access buss systems that work. I see nobody respecting handicapped
parking. not even cops.

Subject: [QUAD-L] Handicap Parking in the USA

Well,
The only thing that will make the general public change their ways and not park
in the handicap spaces is to hit them in the pocket book. Telling people,
begging, pleading, will not change people...THEY KNOW THEY ARE DOING WRONG....

We need local police to step up and ticket these violators and make them pay
200.00 a pop every time they are caught. Also, more spaces would help... I
guessto do that one would have to go to city meeting with pictures, signatures,
and explain the needs to the city board.

Another problem we disabled face is we dont stick together, each disabled
individual finds a way to park themselves or get by....we dont unite and fight
this problem as a whole. We need to look at how african americans have fought
and won their battles throughout the
years......numbers....numbers...unite....unite. One handicap person alone is
looked at as a problem individual, but 30 together , something will change... I
guarantee you that much.....
