Subject: [QUAD-L] 40 Year Anniversary

Yippie!!!!!!!!!  I made it.  How mny other "old timers" are out there???

Yes, I celebrate.  Forty years ago they gave me a 5% chance of living - and
here I am 40 years later.

Now going for the next milestone ... 50 years!

I have a great life.  Yes, it has it's ups and downs - like spending 2 1/2
months in a nursing home healing a pressure sore or gaining way too much weight
and not being able to shed it, or living in cold, cold, cold NY State (well not
cold this week).

My husband and I celebrated 30 year together last year - even though he "came
out" to me after 26 years of marriage ...  THAT was a surprise!!  He is still
my best friend.

I have my sons, my grandchildren, my miniature horses and my 3 Labs (17 puppies
at the moment!!) and my friends.

Life is good.  I celebrate life!

Well, sorry to make this short but sweet, so much has happened over the years I
could go on & on ..... But, I have a horse show tomorrow so have to get to bed.

My parting words were written by someone else, but they fit so well: "Life
should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a
well preserved body, But rather to slide in sideways, Chocolate in one hand,
Strawberries in the other, a body worn out,
used up and  screaming as loudly as possible,'Woo Hoo, What a ride'!!!"

Nan
