That much is true as they are all invasive to YOUR body. Those certified, are using trained and tested in many of those procedures before they are released into the public sector to stick and poke their clients, knowing that dirty nails, viruses and bacteria are ever present in the workplace. Keeping that in mind, I've seen some private home aides that have learn OJT (on the job training) with each client and although they are not certified, are just as good, gentle, sensitive, and knowing as some of those who were trained in a school environment. What duties can privately hired aides in Maryland perform? Can they do bowel care, deal with colostomies, catheterize, deal with SP caths, etc.? There was a news report a few weeks ago that said caregivers need to be licensed to perform such procedures.
