just make sure your podiatrist does it for you, though. i had a partial toenail 
removal done to get rid of fungus and worked quite well.

I heard from some 
    nurses a while back that another good treatment to use is Vick's Vapor 
    Rub.  My understanding is that you simply applied to the nail and it 
    should be able to resolve the situation within a matter of months.  
    This is a lot cheaper than buying medication.
