It was pretty freaky- I didn't panic; and yes I am in a manual chair and glad I
wasn't belted in, I would have been stuck like chuck.

Wow, Tim that was quite a story with a happy fast ending----freak things can
happen so fast for us quads , when you least expect it too. Are you in a manual
chair???  i'm in a power chair with a seat belt---   Dan H.

Yeah I took a trip and didn’t leave the house; I gave myself a nice hard push
backwards from my living room into my den, my front wheels were caught on the
threshold and down I went. I went down so damn quick that the only reaction I
had was to block my knees from hitting me in the face after my head bounced off
the floor. After that I had to get my right leg unstuck from between my armrest
and backrest; I then had to get my chair out from under me. It became a matter
of survival mode at this point; my phones were about fifteen feet away on my
desk, I was home alone, it was 7:50 am and no one would be here until 2 in the
afternoon. My first thought was to try and get to my phone; I realized that
would be nearly impossible, so I was able to get my arm under our futon and get
up on my elbows. After getting to my elbows I then worked my way to a window; I
saw my neighbor come out of his garage, so I started pounding on the window and
yelling, my neighbor
looked around and went back into his garage. So I started thinking I need to
look for something to pad my hips from the hard floor. Just as I am looking
around I saw my neighbor again; I started pounding and yelling again, this time
he heard me. He came over with his cell and called my nurse; she arrived, and
they picked me up. And believe it or not I was down only about ten minutes! I
was pretty dang lucky; no injuries or bruises, just some sore muscles today.
NOW- when nobody is home; my cell will hang from the back of my chair!
