Quadius,

As you have already surmised below, if you are not going to be taking
advantage of the Professional edition's ability to write complex macros and
scripts to automate the execution of multiple commands with a single voice
command, the significantly cheaper Preferred edition should be more than
adequate and should provide the ability to create custom single action
commands like "type e-mail address."

The Knowbrainer software supposedly works with all versions and editions of
NaturallySpeaking, but I have not confirmed this independently. I requested
a free or evaluation copy from the distributor a few weeks ago, but have not
heard back from them yet.

Subject: [QUAD-L] NaturallySpeaking upgrade

Well, I just got off the phone with Nuance and they told me they could sell
the version 10 professional upgrade for $200 instead of $300. This is a bit
steep if you ask me, so I guess I'll be waiting a little while. I sadly
missed the sale they had for about $150.

Just thought you all might like to know.
Remember, this is for the professional. I also noticed a Matrix which
compares all of the types of NaturallySpeaking. I can probably get away
with using NaturallySpeaking preferred because I don't even know how to
write any of the complex macros to make things a lot quicker. According to
this matrix simple script commands (type e-mail address) would work. This
is primarily what I use, but I don't believe Knowbrainer software will work
with preferred.

Steve will know more about the subject than I do, so I will defer to him.
