Depending on each individual, as their needs differ greatly, a softer bed prevents skin breakdown and firmer bed surfaces aid in transfers. Air beds can be beef'ed to aid in transfers and then allowed to relax for regular use. Baclofen is a maintenance drug that is taken in gradual doses. At one time 120 mgs per 24 hours was the normal, but has changed as authorities have seen what it can do to the liver. Baclofen pumps use much less of the drug.
