Hi Tom I just replaced my ancient Sony Ericsson with L G xpression which does have quite a few things I cannot use, and even though I cannot touch my own phone, my mentally handicapped guys have learned to use it quickly. It was one of the few phones that ATT offered that did not need a data plan. Joan

The loop allows you to slide your finger/thumb into it to pick up the phone or to hang the phone on a hook.
