Yes, Greece is very beautiful with thousands of islands surrounded by crystal
clear water and this summer we are expecting a record number of visitors, which
should help the economy.

Hi Meredith,

Life is getting more difficult for most people living in Greece including
Quads. We used to get an allowance for an electric wheelchair, for a very basic
wheelchair with no extras like tilting and that has now been cut in half and is
expected to be cut even more. We receive no aid to buy an accessible van or for
caregivers we have to pay for them out of our own pockets. Of course living in
Athens presents its own challenges as most areas are not very accessible
including almost all apartment buildings over 15 years old. Although I have to
admit that there have been a lot of improvements made especially since the 2004
Olympic Games.

Cheers

Theo

What is like to live as a quad in Greece? Do you have a wheelchair accesible
van, electric wheelchair and caregivers to help you out?
