Nan,

Me either that’s why I’m so hesitant. I’m waiting on my primary care dr to call
w/ his opinion. After all, we did the ua 2 weeks ago today and just yesterday
when I called the urologist did I find out anything. I feel if it was that
serious they should have called me as soon as they got my results last
Wednesday J

Hi Nicki.

I never use anything unless I am symptomatic ... with my urologist's approval.
Developing resistance is always possible, so I try to play it safe. Maybe
there is something to soak the legbag ??

I’m seriously probably going to refuse treatment. The dr got sensitivity
results last Wednesday but I called him this morning since I never heard from
him……..if it was really serious I think he would’ve been on the phone w/ me
last week

If you're not symptomatic why would you treat it? We all have bacteria in our
urine. By taking antibiotics when you don't need to you run the risk of
creating resistant superbugs. If the blue legbag is the only symptom I'd ask
your doctor why you need to be treated.

I'm not a medical professional, but I've been a quad for 30+ years and I avoid
antibiotics whenever possible.

Best wishes,

Don

well if you go to the hospital and you get the runs you won't need bowel care
and they well have to clean things up and ask the Dr. to write orders for any
therapy you need. Avoid their food at all cost unless its good. have friends
and family bring you food.

Has anyone had to use Meropenem by IV? What side effects did you have and were
you admitted into the hospital or did home health do it.

I have 3 different bacteria, I’m not symptomatic other than my leg bag is blue.
Last time it was blue I took macrobid, then bactrim, then cipro and macrobid
and this was almost a year ago.

I DON’T want to do IV antiobiotics because I’m afraid it will give me diarrhea
and I don’t feel sick (but don’t want to feel sick either). And I refuse to go
be in the hospital for 5 days where they can’t do my care!

Suggestions, experiences or opinions please

Nicki
