Very lucky guy!

I once fell out of my wheelchair inside my full-size van, parked in a store
parking lot, engine running, doors closed and radio on. I layed there for
almost half an hour before a passer-by heard me yelling for help. He lifted me
back into my chair and I thanked him profusely. I was unhurt except for carpet
burns all over my face from laying facedown on the floor. It was one of the
scariest things I've ever experienced and from that day forward I've always
worn a seatbelt while in my chair.

This also reminds me of the wheelchair user who survived the Minnesota bridge
collapse a few years back. If you haven't seen the picture, check it out here!:

Subject: [QUAD-L] Paralyzed man rescued from burning van

This happened a few miles from my home.  A Yaris hit a tractor trailer then hit
an Econoline van that was being driven by a paralyzed man.  Van caught fire and
three guys were able to get him out.
