I would not go to Windows 8.1, to many uncertainties with Dragon and Windows
compatibility! For stability and reliability I would use Dragon 12.0 and
Windows 7 professional 64 bit edition. I'm currently running Windows 7 and
Dragon 11.5 with no issues or concerns. It takes time for Dragon and Windows to
work out little bugs or issues between them. Also the 64 bit edition will allow
you to run over 4 GB of memory and I recently saw Dragon on sale for $100 that
is 50% off.

this is my computer set up that I purchased the parts and had a good computer
buddy put it all together for me. AMD CPUs are the most cost-effective and have
been running this set up nearly 18 months. Let me know if you have any other
questions and whatever you do do not go to Best Buy's or anyone else like that!
Take care from Monty

Yup, I'm using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12.5 on Windows 8.1 (that's yesterday's
upgrade of Windows 8).  I don't like Windows 8 – especially the tablet-ready
touchscreen part of it, for which I have to use a mouth-operated mouse anyway.
I mostly ignore that mode.  Don't need it.  But Dragon works great in the
regular "desktop mode" of Windows 8.  Of course, you have to have a mighty
powerful computer with lots of RAM… Feel free to email me with other questions.
 Best, Ben

I’m still running on windows XP, and am running Dragon version 10.

My son is trying to encourage me to update.

Is anybody using Dragon NaturallySpeaking with Windows 8? If so, how is it
working? What version of Dragon are you using? Do you recommend updating?

Thanks,
