Yes thats what I thought at first but it is pushing my shoulders forward to the point of more pinched nerves, but thanks for all your input.

And thank you for the warnings! One thing to consider: you may want to give the new backrest a longer trial before tossing it. Every time I change wheelchairs, backs or cushions I have a week or so of discomfort before my body adjusts to a new position or ergonomic. Just because it is painful now doesn't necessarily mean it's the wrong back for you. Good luck, Don. Yes quad life can be a real bit&h but I look at it as an adventure. Being dead you have no choices, it's always cold and dark and you have nothing to do. When I got a new back on my chair I was talked into a super curved one that has made my pain much worse so now have to deal with exchanging it. Asked for a different manufacturer for my fentanyl patch due to irritation to the skin and the new one is unbearable worse. So now I have pain in my ass, worse pain in my upper body and no pain relief. Might be better to leave well enough alone, having said that my unreliable aide convinced me not to let her go this week and that may be my error for next week. AHHH, gotta luv the quad life! Meredith
