Hi Danny,

I'm sorry to hear about the sudden dramatic increase of dysreflexia bouts
as well as increase in spasms. From where I sit,
you and your Dr.s are right on track trying to ummm track down the cause.
Dysreflexia, especially increases that pop up out of nowhere, is an issue
that I have researched and written about--it is also something we at New
Mobility have experienced through our journalists and
people we have written profiles of.

In terms of syrinx, we have written several articles about this. In my
research, and if it was me there are two Dr.s I would
contact--these are the top syrinx docs, and a syrinx is very complex, you
want the best of the best to advise you, and if
need be, to do the treatment. The doctors are, Dr. Barth Green at the
University of Miami (Miami project) or Dr. Scott Falci
at Craig hospital in Denver. I have spoken with Dr. Falci several times.
In my experience he and his nurse Charolette Indeck
are the best. You can phone or email Charolette for information and she
or Dr. Falci usually get back to you in 48 hours.
Their contact info is: (303)761-5281 or email:
[email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) Dr. Falci
has treated (surgically)
over 1000 people
with syrinx.

Here are two articles New Mobility has done on syrinx, I wrote the first
one and Richard Holicky wrote the 2nd one.

Wishing you a quick resolution to this!

Hi all...I'm still having dysreflexia on and off, been about 3-4 weeks
total now, get bad spasms-especially at night when in bed, I do better during
day when up and taking pain meds. In 17 years as a quad I have only had
problems similar to this when I had serious bladder infections. 1st I went to
family doc and he did some blood work but found nothing, Next we sent A
Urine sample to my Urologist and he found 2 bacteria's and put me on 7 days
of cipro--just in case a uti or infection could be the cause, I will finish
the cipro tomorrow but things are not getting better so It must be
something else...I have a syrinx in my spine, don't know if that can be the
cause
and not sure I can even do an mri now due to spasms when I lay down, sure
hope We can find the cause or I'm not sure what will happen...Oh well, I'll
stop for now, If anyone has an Idea on this, please reply...Thanks
Beforehand, hope your all doing well. Dan H***
