The only issue regarding new motors is replacing the control module too. But that is not a major issue if insurance is paying for the work and parts. The parts are usually in stock and ship in 14 days. Labor is about 2-2-1/2 hours max. Best Wishes In a message dated 7/24/2015 6:08:05 P.M. Central Daylight Time, g...@eskimo.com writes:
I need a new chair pretty darn soon. Mine is getting run down. The auto brake barely holds me in place. I usually don't tie down in the van. I just pull in sideways and get tight behind the front seats. But if at all facing forward, when the van stops, I roll forward. While in for something else, the repair shop said the motors are going bad and said I might not be able to get those because they are too old. When I recline, it makes a loud snap/clank noise like metal is braking and the seat jerks. I can't count how many small nuts and bolts I have found on the floor and can't find where they fell off. I've always had front/mid wheel drive, except my 1st chair. 21st Century, large rear bike size wheels. Very fast, but ugly and not real maneuverable. They still make the exact belt drive chair. Fun chair, but hard to get in mini van, no turning around inside. Other than that old fashion one. Looks like the fastest now is 8.5. I have never tried a rear wheel drive, with the smaller rear wheels. Do they turn sharp? These mid wheels can turn around in space. Can I spin around in my van? Permobil M300 - 7.5mph mid Quickie QM-720 - 8mph mid Quickue P-222 - 8.5mph rear I'm looking into these ones. Any thoughts? Greg
