Some time ago the question was asked whether 64mb RAM chips could be used in a Quadra 840av. I never saw an answer to the question, and I hadn't tried it out myself at that time, but today I finally got around to trying it. I have some 64mb chips that I was using in a 6100. Today I decided to fool around with the 840 so I tried the 64s in it. With both 64s installed the computer recognized only 64mb of total RAM installed. So at least with those sticks, the 840 can only recognize a maximum of 32mb per RAM slot. Sorry it took so long to answer, but I really am not fond of working inside the 840. I would do anything for love, but I won't do that.
