Is it an Apple Ethernet card? If not, you'll probably need drivers for it. I found drivers for the Ethernet card in my Quadra 630 on the Mac Driver Museum website: http://www.macdrivermuseum.com/ I just looked at all the writing on the chips and on the card itself, and looked for a driver that had one of those words in it's name.
