Hi, I have two machines and was trying to make one uber machine ;-)
>From everything I could find on the net it should work.... I took a PowerPC PDS card out of a Quadra 610.Which meant taking it out of the adapter and installed it into a Quadra 650. The 610 worked fine using MacOS 8.1 with and without the PDS card ;-) The 650 didn't seem to want to acknowledge the card was there. I did install the PowerPC control panel switch it on did the vulcan mind cleansing control-p-r and rebooted it.. The 650 also has MacOS 8.1 on it.. It seems with card is an Apple original and doesn't have a frequency switch/jumper on it like some of the 3rd party ones... So a copy of questions: 1) Should it work? 2) any diagnostic software that might help I think daystar had some? 3) What is latest version of MacOS can I run on it? 8.6? The 610 only has 20MBs in it and the 650 has 72MBs that The reason for doing this is to get a later version netscape MacOS 8.0 came with Navigator 3.0 but when I tried to install Netscape 4.78 or Opera they complain about not having ppc...on the 650...
