Just signed up for the list today and it looks like it will be informative. I have a Performa I am considering upgrading. It's info: Performa 575 LC68040 250 mb 36 mgs ram 66 MHZ no fpu
I've found a 4.2 gig, 50 pin hard drive on ebay the seller says could work with some modifications. I would have to install system 8.5 on the hard drive to use the drive. Apple says the Performa will support that at it's top level and I have a copy of Imac disks that I could use. I'm wondering if the computer speed (66 mhz) would be fast enough to make the upgrade to 8.5 worthwhile I've had this Performa since 1995 and it's been rock solid. I would like to still use it and am open to suggestions. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thanks Jim R -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
