Erm, wow, what an answer ;). The PRAM holds all the settings for the computer that it needs to boot, such as what SCSI device it is to boot from by default and what screen size to use. The PRAM in the LC475 is a fickle beast. It requires a good battery to even show a video signal at startup. Try this little dodge (at your own risk of course): Turn on the LC475 Wait for the hard disk to spin up as normal Once the hard disk is FULLY spun up and initialised turn the machine off and on in rapid succession. If it boots it is definitely the PRAM. If not, pull out the battery and try the above again If that all fails unplug all power and the battery and leave it to stand for a while. -- Mark Benson AIM - SilValleyPirate Visit FlatPackMacs online: <http://fpm.gotdns.com> Visit my Homepage: <http://homepage.mac.com/markbenson> Vintage Macs List Nanny "Never send a human to do a machine's job." -The Matrix -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
