Back in the '80s when I was with Intel, a motorcycling friend worked for
Commodore in Santa Clara, Cal. Called me one day and asked if I could
borrow or rent a semi-trailer. Said he'd been told to empty out a
warehouse of all the original PET systems and parts as well as all the
subsequent development items. Said he'd been told to take to dump. Asked
if he could have the contents and was given note signed by Barnell
stating building contents were his and no liability to incur to
Commodore.

Took he, I, his wife and daughter two days to palletize and forklift the
pallets of material out of that warehouse. I was able to dispose of all
of my share at the various Foothill [College, Los Altos Hills] Amateur
Radio Flea Markets that summer. Got me involved in Amateur Radio. Got
him a new motorcycle. I had already bought a new '82 Honda Aspencade and
equipped it with trailer and three radios - 2-meter; 1-1/4-meter and 70
cm.

Was also putting together ham radio oriented TRS-80 systems and software
for it and CoCo systems Tandy was selling. AND had full Intel-based
system bought from Intel at yard sale Intel put on each summer for
employees and others. Employees who volunteered to work the sales and
clean up after got first pick. Needless to say I ALWAYS volunteered.
