Just one last question, can I dual boot my mac? I mean I've not used macs much so forgive my newbieness.
If I install 8.6 on the other disk do I need a bootloader of some sort?
the 8.6 update is free, the 8.5 disc is needed.
Going back a bit, I think the startup disk CP works fine if the systems are on seperate partitions. OS9's startup CP is better.
Can't think of another mac bootloader, I'm unsure if something like System Picker works above 8.1? works well under 8.1.
BootX for most else.
Operating System updates on the macs are more software driven here, on some macs I'm happy with OS7.x with the appearance extension from OS8 to make it look nice or kalidoscope to mac it look good. :)
