Heh, tried to boot up the 475 first time since we moved at the beginning
of Oct and she seems to be pooched. It chimes, drive spins up but that's
it, no vid output, no grinding from the HD indicating it's booting MacOS.

I seem to recall reading something about a dead PRAM battery stopping a
machine from booting, is that the case with the 475? It's that little
stubby 'AAA-chopped-in-half' dealie, right?

It doesn't really matter if I get it runnin again as I'm getting a PPC in
the next couple weeks, but I'm loathe to throw out any computer that's
not absolutely utterly toast. =)

It's likely a dead battery. Try this:

Turn it on and wait till you hear the beep and the drive spinning up.
Now flip the power switch off and immediately back on.

If it boots now then the battery is dead.

The battery is a 1/2 AA 3.6V Lithium.
