I loaded A/UX 3.x on my aws95 machine using a 6x or 8x apple rommed drive with no dificulties or hacking (just used the boot floppy and original install cd). My machine is just an original quadra 950 with the server board added on later, the cdrom was not in the unit when I purchased it either.
