I have been able to boot a Centris 650 (and a PM 7300) from a RAM Disk, and i beleive that this will work on most (all???) desktop machienes introduced scince the Quadra 950.
Booting from a RAM Disk should be a matter of setting up the RAM Disk in the memory control panle, and then installing enough of the System onto it to be able to boot up. After this, select the RAM Disk in the Startup Disk control panle, and restart (don't shut down!!!)
