It depends on the '040 model if 32/24 bit addressing toggling is an
option or not.

"Apple IIe Card for the Macintosh LC
The Macintosh LC 630 and Macintosh Quadra 630 computers operate only in
32-bit addressing mode, so they do not support the Apple IIe card for
the Macintosh LC."

Someone should write and tell LEM they've got their 630 specs wrong.
