Then for some reason after I had to rebuild the desktop on the Quadra 610 I
can no longer see the G3 as a Server when using the Chooser and AppleShare.
I am using the same wires that used to work and the same hub connected to a
router, both are Linksys products and they work fine if I am connecting my
3440c Powerbook in order to do some file sharing.
Also if I manually enter the router info and subnet mask I can connect to the
Net from the Quadra.
I called Apple Computer and the Tech helped me reset the PRAM, and it still
doesn't work.
I am thinking that I need to power down everything and redo the wires and the
hub, etc.
Anyone have any suggestions as to how to do it right?
The first place I'd look is the Appletalk control panel (or Network, depending) on both machines and make sure it's set for ethernet. Without Appletalk using ethernet, you'll technically be able to talk to each machine via TCP/IP, but the easy auto detection of a fileserver out on the network won't happen - so it won't show in the Chooser. If you've reset PRAM it's almost certain the Appletalk protocol will be only looking over the printer port.
