My, how times have changed!

Kit car bragging used to be about BHP, torque, 0-60 times. Now it's 
about MPG. I don't monitor MPG, I just fill up when I need to. I could 
probably get mid 30's if I really tried - short shifting, smooth 
acceleration, gentle braking etc but then I would be bored out of my 
brain. kit cars should be fun - If MPG is your major factor, then 
perhaps a modern, cheap reliable run around is more approppriate.

I waited over 20 years to become a kit car owner, so I want to enjoy 
it.

i understand that for some, their kits are their only mode of 
transport and therefore MPG is important but for me that completely 
defeats the purpose. 

It's only my opinion, I know others may disagree.
